Nichols is known for her time on the U.S. National Gymnastics Team, a standout NCAA career at the University of Oklahoma and most importantly, the strong impact she continues to have on the gymnastics community.

“I don’t want to be remembered as just a gymnast. I want to be remembered as a great teammate and fierce competitor, but also someone who can be an inspiration to others” Nichols said. “Gymnastics has given me so much joy, and I want to give that back to the next generation of gymnasts so they can experience the same joy gymnastics brought me."

Nichols was a member of the 2015 World Championship team, and was a driving force behind their gold-medal finish. Competing on all four events in the team finals, Nichols captured bronze in the floor event finals. Following her time on the U.S. National Team, Nichols began her NCAA career at the University of Oklahoma in the fall of 2016. Nichols led the Sooners Gymnastics Team to two National Championships. At Oklahoma, she earned six individual NCAA first place finishes, and scored 22 perfect tens. Nichols was the well-deserved recipient of the 2018 Arthur Ashe Courage Award, 2019 NCAA Inspiration Award, and 2019 Honda Sports Award.
